Aphex Twin – Selected Ambient Works Volume 2

An ambient classic, over two and a half hours of Aphex Twin’s anti-music. It’s very hard to describe it as on the surface it’s quiet, undefined yet you feel that it always reflects and creates emotions. There’s an air of feeling uncomfortable. It doesn’t have any pattern, it flows freely as a state of mind.
Beck – Modern Guilt

Dunno why I never posted about this; I often return to it these days. It’s such a juicy beat box with psyched vocals and vintage collage sounds. Yet it’s all very modern. It often happens with Beck, but I haven’t been into none of his albums this much. The important factor this time must be the album’s length – about half an hour, just right for each idea to have its own time and leave space for another, all equally good. Catchy and thoughtful at the same time.
Edit: this torrent’s track 6 can’t be played, it has a virus it seems. Somethign more awesome can be found on Demonoid, a vinyl rip.
Flying Lotus – Los Angeles
Hey everybody! It’s been a long journey and now this blog is alive again.

A few textures deep hazy mix, perfect soundtrack to walking around a modern city in the night, when psychedelic is the escape and the means. He goes a lot further in experimentation than Massive Attack for instance. Largely instrumental, but there are three hypnotic vocal tracks as well. The torrent includes nice artwork in PDF.
