I am not sure how to describe Bear In Heaven. See the tags below. They don’t mean much together. Yet they’re all true. When I heard them for the first time I was genuinely excited, like I was when I heard, say, Pink Floyd or Mogwai for the first time. Perhaps their music goes well [...]

To me previously unknown British artist Stephen Wilkinson aka Bibio made one excellent album that’s, as all good ones, kinda hard to describe – it’s largely electronic music but at the same time it floats back and forth between folk and funk let’s say. Mellow but experimental, it grows on me on each listen. I [...]

Fever Ray is a solo debut of Karin Dreijer Andersson from the Swedish electronica band The Knife. It’s still slightly distorted electronica, but with way more subtle vocals, slow and atmospheric. If you need a feeling of an upcoming fall in the night.

This is a Ninja Tune reissue of the original Cujo (Amon Tobin) record from 1996, originally released on a small London-based label called Ninebar. Later on Amon Tobin became widely known for his atmospheric beats that incorporate drum’n’bass, jazz, hip-hop backgrounds.

An ambient classic, over two and a half hours of Aphex Twin’s anti-music. It’s very hard to describe it as on the surface it’s quiet, undefined yet you feel that it always reflects and creates emotions. There’s an air of feeling uncomfortable. It doesn’t have any pattern, it flows freely as a state of mind.

My first time with Boards of Canada. This EP is from 2006 and it’s simply brilliant relaxing electronica that actually makes me feel like I’m out in nature somewhere in spring time.

Oh finally I get a chance to check out the ten Scandinavian jazz outcasts Jaga Jazzist. I love it! This is awesome, probably as good as it gets at the moment when you mix jazz with one or two rock people in a band exploring electronic sounds. And it fits the winter time.
This is a [...]

An album that sounds like a human response to whales. A soundtrack to a transformation, a texturized loop into eternity. Will keep an open eye on Fennesz from now on, happy to have discovered him.

Although I’m not some fan of electronic music, I’m quite enjoying this mix. Jay says “There’s a lot of energetic music on this mix. Some breaks, some trance and a very special surprise – [his own song]” which is very good too! When I hear “trance” I think of something only an intoxicated individual can [...]

Dunno why I never posted about this; I often return to it these days. It’s such a juicy beat box with psyched vocals and vintage collage sounds. Yet it’s all very modern. It often happens with Beck, but I haven’t been into none of his albums this much. The important factor this time must be [...]
